SHOP SMART 〰️

Black Friday is almost here, and with it comes the annual rush of sales and discounts that promise incredible deals. But before you dive in, let me share some professional tips to help you shop smarter, not harder. Whether you're eyeing a pair of boots, a wool coat, or cashmere, Black Friday can be a golden opportunity to invest in pieces that truly add value to your wardrobe — if you shop intentionally.

Start With What You’ll Wear

When shopping Black Friday sales, it’s easy to get caught up in the frenzy of flashy discounts. My best advice? Focus on buying things you’ll actually wear. Now is the perfect time to snag timeless staples like:

  • A classic pair of boots you’ll wear all season.

  • That wool coat you’ve been eyeing—perfect for layering in colder months.

  • Cashmere sweaters that add both luxury and warmth to your wardrobe.

  • The perfect pair of denim you’ve been waiting to splurge on.

Skip items that are overly trendy or novelty unless they’re true statement pieces that complement what you already own. A unique coat or bold shoes that can easily mix with your existing wardrobe? Absolutely. But a neon crop top you’ll only wear once? Probably not.

Make a Plan and Shop Your List

Black Friday can feel overwhelming if you’re not prepared. Before you start adding to your cart, take a moment to assess your needs and make a list of what you’re looking for. Prioritize the sales that matter most to you and focus on the brands and retailers you trust. By narrowing your focus, you’ll avoid impulse purchases and shop more effectively.

For example, if you’ve been meaning to replace your winter coat, this is the time to look at brands that specialize in outerwear. Love a specific denim brand? Check their deals first. Being intentional about where you shop can save time and ensure you end up with pieces you’ll love for years to come.

Be Intentional About Vendors

I know it’s tempting to grab everything off Amazon for convenience, but Black Friday is also a great opportunity to support your favorite brands and retailers. Many of them offer exclusive discounts during this time. ( see below for some of my favorites) By choosing carefully, you can shop both efficiently and effectively while supporting businesses that align with your style and values.

A Personal Look Back at Black Friday

As someone who started her career in retail, I used to dread Black Friday. I worked during a time when shoppers would line up at the door, ready to race inside and claim the best deals. It was chaos. Women would literally fight over leather jackets and purses at Neiman Marcus, scrambling for the best shoes on the rack. It was like a scene out of a movie. And who could forget those early 2000’s videos of people storming into Best Buy for TVs, running over anyone in their path? It was wild.

Thankfully, online shopping has made the experience much more civilized. You can still get incredible deals—without the stampedes—and shop from the comfort of your home. Let’s all be thankful for that!

What’s in Store for You

To make your Black Friday shopping even easier, I’ve curated a list of my favorite brands and their best Black Friday deals, along with a catalog featuring almost 30 vendors, including Nordstrom, Bergdorf Goodman, Anthropologie, and more. Whether you’re shopping for yourself or crossing items off your holiday gift list, this guide is here to help you shop intentionally and stylishly. Most sales end 12/2 - so make sure to mark some time on your calendar if sale shopping is a priority.

Something Special Coming Your Way

Finally, I’m excited to share that I’ll be releasing a special deal on BRAND NEW style offer at midnight on Thursday! Be sure to check your inbox for all the details—you won’t want to miss it.
